Krimml Waterfalls
In order to see some mountain landscapes that otherwise we would miss, we take the Gerloss Pass which is the most beautiful road in Austria. A toll payment is required. Our target is Krimml Waterfalls. It's the fifth highest waterfall in the world comprised of 3 waterfalls 380 meters high in total. 
The waterfalls are located 98 km from Innsbruck. We arrive at Krimml where parking is free. Here the fun starts. This park is the second biggest wildlife preserve in Europe and the biggest in the Alps. The difference between the lowest and highest point is around 2600 metres. On the way, panoramic views of the cascades plunging down into the basin will spread before your eyes.
Here the highest mountain peaks in Austria, interesting rocks and exquisite panoramas at every step, and most importantly, the breathtakingly beautiful waterfall that is Krimml, surround you.
The Krimml River originated from the Krimml ice formation in ancient times. The river flows through alpine fields until it reaches the Schettbrucke and begins to drop.
The Krimml Waterfalls is the first and only natural landmark in Austria to be granted a conservation diploma by the European Parliament.
This idyllic waterfalls with water museum and moutaintop restaurant is a great day out for the whole family.
